How does Emotional Therapy help?
Emotional Therapy can help unblock our feelings, strengthen our sense of self and give us the confidence to move forward.
Emotional Therapy offers a safe space to deal with painful emotions and old wounds. Those wounds often stay with us and stop us from living the rich, full lives we want to live.
A range of techniques may be used to deal with feelings in a positive way. I am happy to suggest things that can be done outside sessions, to continue the therapeutic process.
Emotional Therapy is client led - it goes at your pace and the number of sessions varies according to each client's needs.
I like to meet with prospective clients and talk about why you are thinking of counselling - and why now. I offer a free 20-30 minute consultation to discuss this and to see if we are happy to work together. If we are happy to proceed, then together we can discuss the best way forward - working together for either short or long term counselling.
It is helpful to meet regularly for a certain period of time and then to have a review and see how the sessions are going for you, and to look at what is helpful, and what may not be.
It is really useful to have a final session together when the time feels right to end the counselling sessions - so that our work has a proper ending - which is often something that is missing in our lives.
